When private detective Fred McConnell receives a cryptic phone call summoning him to the United Kingdom to assist with a murder investigation, he soon realizes that he is in far over his head, and nothing is what it seems. Allies and enemies all become one in the mists of the investigation. Who can McConnell trust?

His point of contact, Inspector Roberts has given him a deadline for the case to be resolved or the inspector will be forced to take drastic measures. As the time draws closer to the deadline, McConnell races to find the truth of the murders. He must put aside all that he knows, and all that he thinks he knows, in order to solve this case and bring the killer to justice.

The only question is, can he do it in time?
